Neurological Specialist Nursing Service (NHS Western Isles)

The Neurological Specialist Nursing Service provides care, support and information to those affected by Parkinson’s and MS and offers:

• the provision of care, information, support and advice to people with Parkinson’s and MS and their families and carers
• to promote a greater understanding of Parkinson’s and MS
• to offer a person-centred approach to people diagnosed with Parkinson’s and MS>
• telemedicine consultations with a neurologist

Clinics can be offered at:

• Western Isles Hospital
• Uist & Barra Hospital

We also offer home visits.

Referrals are accepted for patients who have a confirmed diagnosis from their Neurologist or GP.

Patients with a definitive diagnosis of Parkinsons (or Parkinsonism) or MS can also self-refer but their GP will be contacted for additional professional information.
